Where: Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass
Time: 12:00 AM ET

The JA Leadership Lexington Youth Program (LLYP) exists to inspire and equip Lexington’s young leaders from diverse backgrounds with the skills needed to build a collaborative, empowered local and global community. Through hands-on experiences, students engage with peers and community leaders to explore issues impacting our community and nation while developing strategies to strengthen the next generation of leadership. This is a highly interactive program, and participants are expected to be fully engaged and committed—giving 110% throughout the experience. To graduate from the program, you must participate in all eight full day sessions!

JA LLYP features dynamic activities such as team-building exercises, group and project-based learning, leadership challenges, reflection, etiquette training, and financial planning and career development. Students also participate in tours of local businesses, government agencies, and nonprofits, and interact directly with prominent local leaders. The program cost is $450, with need-based scholarships available. The application is due by March 13. The program is open to rising juniors (11th-grade status as of August 2026) who have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 and who live and/or attend school within Fayette County.

Application process:
All applications and letters of recommendation are due by March 13th, 2026. Applications will then be reviewed, and student interviews will take place in the coming months. Students chosen for interviews will be contacted by Junior Achievement with the interview date and time. Acceptance/regret letters will be sent out this summer.
